In the US and the EU, accessibility is a legal and procurement reality — not a design nicety. ADA Title II names WCAG 2.1 AA as the technical standard for public entities; Section 508 governs federal work; and since June 2025 the European Accessibility Act reaches any company serving EU consumers. We lead with it, and document it so it stands up in front of a procurement team, a regulator, or a court.

An automated scanner catches only a fraction of what actually blocks a real user — industry and regulator guidance alike put it at roughly a third of real barriers. The rest need a human. That gap is where lawsuits, failed procurements, and blocked users live. Most 'accessibility' work stops at the scan; we start where it ends.

Contrast, zoom to 200%, reflow, target size, and the judgment a checklist can't make — including the WCAG 2.2 criteria (target size, focus-not-obscured, accessible authentication) that most audits still miss.
